We come across them just after dawn. Almost invisible in the sun-blanched grass, three white lions are sleeping off a successful hunt the night before.
Lying on their sides, they barely raise their heads to acknowledge our presence. We turn off the engine of our Jeep and sit watching the two brothers and a sister. Slowly, as the minutes go by, they wake up and playfully pet one another with their great, lazy paws, unaware that they are something of a miracle.
