Formidable Gaia arrived in our project, her face darkened with anger at humanity’s abuse of this planet.

Although she and her brother, Assegaia, had been free-roaming in a commercial wildlife reserve, they both took time to settle in the safety and sanctity of the Heartlands, exhibiting heightened suspicion and anger towards humans. All this changed once she met her King, Regeus, who worshipped the very ground she walked on.

Their courtship was finally crowned with the arrival of four little Stars, born to Mother Earth, Gaia.

This Earth Day, we honour Gaia, a lioness who walks in deep alignment with the powerful, uncompromising rhythms of Mother Nature.

This magnificent being embodies a grounded presence, as the pain of Mother Earth is etched into her face while she opens The Way to true reconnection with our planet. She takes only what she needs. She gives back to the great cycle of Life. She restores balance to the ecosystem. In her world, there is reciprocity: Love and Respect across all the Kingdoms of Life.

Gaia reminds us of a timeless Truth that we have drifted away from. Our wellbeing is not separate from the Earth. The health of our environment is one with the health of our bodies, our communities, and our future.

In a world driven by gross consumption, this great mothering force shows another way. Resilient. Focused. Responsive to the continuum of life. Even through challenge, she takes action in service of the greater good of the whole.

Every Earth Day, we invite you to return to that wisdom.

Take only what you need. Give back where you can. Be conscious with your precious use of resources, and reconnect in sacred service with this divine planet, stepping into your LionHearted Leadership role as an Earth steward.

Harmony with Nature is not simply an idea. It is a vitally urgent responsibility. And it begins with each of us.
